YOU ARE INVITED TO THE FALL CONCERTOF THE GETTYSBURG CHAMBER ORCHESTRA ON SUDAY, SEPTEMBER 10 AT 4 PM AT THE UNITED LUTHERAN SEMINARY CHAPEL. CELLEST COLIN STOKES WILL PERFORM THE DVORAK CELLO CONCERTO AND THE ORCHESTRA WILL PRESENT HTE SYMPHONY FROM THE BNEW WORLDD, ALSO BY DVORAK. THERE WILL BE A RECEPTION FOR EVERYONE AFTER THS CONCERT ACROSS THE STREET IN THE REFECTORY. THIS WILL BE THE FINAL CONCERT FOR NORMAN AND CAROLYN AS THEY ARE RETIRING FROM THEIR RESPECTIVE POSITIONS WITH THE GCO. WE ARE PLEASED TP ANNOUNCE THATTHE GCO WILL CONTINUE UNDER THE BATON OF RYAN KOZAK AND HIS WIFE KATE GUY WHO WILLBE THE NEW BUSINESSMANAGER. WE HOPE THAT YOU CAN JOIN US FOR THIS VERY SPECIAL OCCASION.

ABOUT US
The Gettysburg Chamber Orchestra was founded in order to present great music in a beautiful venue. All concerts take place in the Chapel of the Gettysburg Lutheran Theological Seminary. As an ensemble dedicated to enriching the area community, one of its goals is to use as many local musicians as members and/or as soloists with the orchestra. From the beginning over 50% of its members are from Gettysburg and surrounding areas.We invite you to peruse this website and to explore other aspects of this ensemble.
Norman Nunamaker has degrees from Bowling Green State University (OH) (AB degree in Music), and Indiana University (Bloomington, IN), where he earned both the MM and PhD in Musicology. Norman was on the faculty at Gettysburg College for 33 years and taught courses in Music History, Music Theory, Strings, Music Appreciation and directed the College Orchestra .He is a violinist and has performed with many local ensembles as well as being the Associate Concertmaster of the York Symphony Orchestra for over 20 years. Conducting has also been an interest, and Norman conducted the Potomac Symphony Orchestra (3 yrs), the Maryland Theatre Orchestra (2 yrs), and the Shippensburg Festival Orchestra (20 years).
